My Take On It
Politicians are well known for saying practically anything to get into office and when the time comes to make good on election promises or any promises made to people during the election process - those promises have a way of getting swept under the carpet or will be dealt with when other issues are taken care of first. Back when the U.S. Presidential election was in high gear, Charles Huffer managed to meet up with then Presidential candidate, George Bush, and put him on the spot. He asked if Mr. Bush would do anything regarding the UFO question and Mr. Bush pointed to Dick Cheney saying, and I quote, "Sure I will_It will be the first thing he (pointing to Cheney) will do. He'll get right on it." Of course, after the election was said and done, the UFO question was conveniently DUCKED. NOTHING got done from either the Oval office or from the Vice-Presidential office. To make matters even worse, Mr. Cheney traveled to Roswell a couple of months after the election and the UFO community was wondering if perhaps the Vice-President would use the visit to unveil some hard facts about UFOs. True to any politician going anywhere, Mr. Cheney did give a speech and mentioned_not a SINGLE word about UFOs, ET's or anything remotely resembling disclosure of any nature. The UFO community however has always had hope as an important element of the foundation and Dick Cheney returned to Roswell with this latest group of U.S. Elections and this time Mr. Cheney spoke from Hangar 32 at the Roswell Industrial Air Center, which was actually the former Roswell Air Force Base. Once again, no mention was made about UFO disclosure or anything of that nature because Mr. Cheney has much bigger fish to fry and they can be found in Iraq. The UFO community would have done well to take a listen to Dick Cheney when he was on an open line show in Washington back in April of 2001. When he was asked if he was ever briefed on the subject of UFOs. His answer merely reinforced what we have always suspected. And I quote, "If I had been briefed on UFOs, it would have been classified, and I wouldn't be talking about it." Hmmm... now does anybody else have a problem with this? Why exactly would the U.S. government bother to classify something that it claims does not exist? And how exactly do you classify something that you claim is not there? The bottom line is that Politicians will do anything to get into office and while they are in office, they will do nothing that would possibly jeopardize their position there. Disclosure of information about UFOs is far too risky a limb to go out on and there are more than enough politicians patiently waiting with a chainsaw in their hands ready to bring somebody down. However, as I said before, the foundation of the Disclosure of information about UFOs is hope and Charles Huffer clearly illustrated that during this past election in the States. Once again he managed to shake President Bush's hand in Arkansas and sent an email to Grant Cameron which stated, "Today as This afternoon, 4 November 2002, President George W. Bush attended a Republican Campaign Rally at the Northwest Regional Airport (XNA) in Northwest Arkansas. After the rally was over, while on the way to Air Force One, President Bush shook hands with some of the people at the rally. My hand was one of those. I took the opportunity to remind President Bush that he had promised ME over two years ago that he would tell us the truth about UFOs. I then asked if he intended to keep that promise. He answered: 'Yes'". "Unfortunately, this time I did not have my recorder with me so this report is no better than hearsay. But it did happen." To be blunt, I believe Mr. Huffer and his claim that President Bush re-affirmed his promise, however, I am NOT naïve enough to think that anything MORE will come of it than that_in otherwords, Charles, if I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for President Bush to make good on that promise... but that's just my take on it! |
