My Take On It
This past week on UFO UpDates I posted a message with the Subject line 'Debunking The Debunkers', and I did this because I feel enough flatulence has been coming out of the debunkers that it really is stinking up the neighborhood. The particular debunker that I chose to begin with is CSICOP's own Phil Klass because he has come out saying that he suspects the UFO sightings over Washington this past July were a temperature inversion and this got me wondering where and how Mr. Klass could come up with such an interesting explanation. Matter of fact, it got me so interested that I decided to do a little research into temperature inversions and lo and behold, what little tidbit did I come up with? Why nothing less than a "temperature inversion" was offered as the official explanation for the rash of UFO sightings over Washington way back in July of 1952. The problem with this little explanation being what occurred this past July is two-fold. First, when it was offered back in 1952, it quickly got shot down because somebody actually talked to some radar operators back then and one of them was recorded as saying. "Inversion blips are always recognized by experts, we are familiar with what weather conditions, flying birds, and [other] such things can cause on radar. Temperature inversions on radar are typically weak returns and move at a slow ground speed. These blips were distinctly clear, reported as a very good return, solid and often traveled at unbelievable speeds." Additional to this, the USAF's Project Blue Book investigated that particular sighting back in 1952 and they also did not accept "temperature inversion" as an official explanation. Instead, they recorded the event as "unexplained". But that's just my take on it..... |
