My Take On It

This past week on the UFO UpDates List has seen a post by John Velez asking about the reliability of photographic, cinemagraphic, and videographic evidence concerning UFOs and why it seems impossible for people to accept it.

People worldwide seem to cry "Hoax" or "Fraud" or any other number of things whenever photographic evidence is presented and almost everyone begins to look for the fishing line or they try to determine how the "model" was created as they view motion images.

It amazes me as well that we seemingly can't believe what we see with our own eyes as we examine the evidence. We take a look, go "uh yup, sure looks like a flying saucer to me," and then we stick our heads back in the sand and say, "Now that I can't see it anymore, it don't exist." Miles and I'm not exaggerating, literally miles of film and videotape have been shot that show unidentified flying objects and still we don't believe any of it. Still photographs have been taken by almost every type of camera known to us and STILL we don't believe it!

All too often I've heard the story about how ALL the images are too soft focus or the sighting was too fast to make out what it was and then, when we get photographic and videographic evidence that is SHARP and is a long enough sighting to make out exactly what we're looking at, we hear the battle cries of the skeptics, "McMinnville, or Gulf Breeze, or Carp," even when some of those cases have NOT been conclusively proven to be a hoax.

Therein lies the problem, if a picture or a videotape or a reel of film is proven to be hoaxed then it tars all photographic evidence with the same brush and why?

We are dealing with a subject that quite simply scares the hell out of all of us. As a race, we simply don't want to believe that there is anything out there. We do not want to believe there is intelligent life out there that is capable of things that we can't even conceive as being technically possible. We do not want to believe that we could be powerless to prevent things like animal mutilation, human abduction because the reality is staring us in the face. IF there are beings out there that are that powerful, they could destroy all civilization as we know it and they might not even be trying to do that. Contact with them could simply overwhelm us suddenly, instead of being the Alpha beings on this planet, we could find ourselves going the way of the dinosaurs.

It is not that the photographic, cinemagraphic and videographic proof is not evidence enough for us to believe what is going on, it simply is that we do not want to recognize it for what it is…proof that we're being visited…..

But that's just my take on it....
