My Take On It
Every few months the UFO UpDates List seems to have a thread on it that mentions Roswell somewhere in the Subject Line and this past week has seen the emergence of a thread entitled, 'The Roswell News Release' and was begun by Bruce Hutchinson. Bruce presents a hypothesis to the list members based on a lot of "what if's" and "maybe it was'es" that upon initial reading gives us some food for thought but like the famous cotton candy available at fairgrounds - it looks pretty, tastes good but does nothing to sate a hungry appetite. Now for those who might be unfamiliar with this, Bruce tells us that: "On July 8th, 1947, Roswell AAFB Press Information Officer Lt. Walter Haut, issued the now famous news release that the Roswell Army Air Force Base had recovered a "Flying Disk". (In fact this is a bone of contention with me because actually the term that was used in the press release and the newspaper article was 'flying saucer'), Bruce goes on to say, "It has long been a point of contention as to why the release was authorized, especially if the debris was really that of an alien spaceship." And then quotes the actual Press Release: "The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment group at Roswell Army Air Field announced at noon today, that the field has come into possession of a flying saucer. According to information released by the department, over authority of Maj. J. A. Marcel, intelligence officer." (Roswell Daily Record, July 8, 1947) Mr. Hutchinson opens the thread with a question about whether the press release was in fact authorized by Colonel Blanchard - C.O. of the base, because he can't seem to find anything out there that SAYS Colonel Blanchard authorized this press release. Now that he has dropped this little bombshell, he then goes on to give us several possible reasons as to why it might not have been Colonel Blanchard and his hypothesis goes on ad nauseum from there, adding a few more "what if's" and "maybe it was'es" in enough quantity that I swear my eyes crossed as I was reading it. I believe everyone who listens to me spout off on here every week already knows that Roswell is one of my very favourite examples of Government cover-up involving UFO's because to be perfectly blunt, it is as black and white as the newsprint it was originally printed upon. I'm going to cut to the chase right here. The U.S. Army Air Force and what eventually became the U.S. Air Force with the army dropped from it's name, LIED to anyone and EVERYONE that listened to their story. They OFFICIALLY and PUBLICALLY declared that they had captured a FLYING SAUCER - Then they changed their story and concocted a HOAX of a press conference to show that they had MERELY captured a weather balloon and FINALLY they come CLEAN with us in 1997 and state that in fact they had recovered a MOGUL balloon. No matter how you cut it and for whatever reason you want to think, they LIED. The other main part of the Roswell story that everyone tries to sweep under the rug is that the U.S. Air Force would have us believe that one of their INTELLIGENCE officers with the rank of MAJOR is NOT capable of being able to tell the difference between a FLYING SAUCER or a BALLOON and obviously can't even figure out the difference between RUBBER and METAL or that BALSA WOOD is NOT indestructible. Whoever authorized the original press release
about Roswell is about as important to the TRUTH of the matter as what
colour were the eyes of the Captain of the Titanic. But that's just
MY
take on it. But that's just my take on it! |
