Multiple Witnesses To UFO Over New Brunswick Source: L'Acadie Nouvelle - Caraquet, New Brunswick Wednesday 23 January 2002 [Translated by Chris Rutkowski] INKERMAN - Several witnesses, say they all saw the same unidentified flying object seen by a couple on the Acadian Peninsula, about which we reported in our Monday edition. Nuclear physicist and noted expert in the UFO world, Stanton Friedman, received more than a dozen calls from individuals who claim to have seen UFOs which have flown over their area, at his office in Fredericton One is the case of an individual who walked along the road with his father, last 12 January at around 18h30, in the area of Landry Office. "I saw what I thought was a small plane which flew over the Community center of Landry Office, other side of the bridge, and which looked like it was going towards the airport of Pokemouche," he told the newspaper. "But this thing was stationary and did not make any noise. We did not hear any engine. There were two intense white lights and a blue one. It flew over very quickly the Pokemouche river to move over the trees in the area of Hachey Road until we lost sight of it. I am not somebody who believes in UFOs. When I saw the story in the newspaper yesterday (Monday), I had shivers," says this reader of this newspaper. He and his father were able to observe the object for at least five minutes. Another presumed witness was returning from Tracadie-Sheila to Lameque. It was approximately 20h30 when he was on the bridge which spans the Pokemouche river, close to the church and the school. This road is situated approximately five kilometres from Pallot and Inkerman, this is the same road which was referred to in Monday's edition where a couple of Peninsula Acadians stated that they saw a UFO. "I saw these lights. I thought that it was a plane, like those of the Air Nova company, which come in from the Bathurst direction. I noticed three unusual things that evening", wrote the individual, who communicated with Mr. Friedman by E-Mail. The low altitude of the craft, the unusual direction it was travelling, west to east, and the intensity of the lights of the object made him believe that it was unusual. He initially thought that he was seeing a drug-trafficking plane. The object was however stationary. It was 21h30, last 12 January. Another witness wrote that she was with two friends in a car in the area of Six Roads. This was a few days before the period of Fetes. "We saw a clear light in the sky. We were near Six Roads. It was about 20h30. That evening, as we rounded a corner. We stopped the car and got out. The object was above the trees. It was stationary and did not make any noise. We saw a small blue light. We observed it for approximately one minute, before losing sight of it. We talked about it and we read the newspaper this morning (Monday), we were very surprised. We seem to have witnessed the same thing that this couple from Peninsula Acadienne", said this resident of Tracadie-Sheila, who requested anonymity. For Stanton Friedman, the fact that many people saw this object in the sky, the same evening is rather rare. "Usually, people who are UFO witnesses never tell anyone. Here, these people were all supporting each other's stories. They were not the only witnesses. In the eyes of a scientist, this is important. We have to ask what was seen. These people did not see aliens. These are, however, events to which we should pay attention," he notes. |
